Calvin Kattar, a professional mixed martial artist, is recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered during his last fight against Arnold Allen in October. During this time, he sat down with UFC.com to discuss his mentality of “Always Pushing Forward”.

In the interview, Kattar talks about how despite the setback he suffered , he still maintains a positive outlook on life and focuses only on things that are within his control. Kattar believes in moving forward and producing the best version of himself when he returns to the Octagon.

The featherweight division in which Kattar competes has had a lot of movement at the top with champion Alexander Volkanovski going for double-champ status against lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 284 next month. Kattar wishes Volkanovski luck in the fight and respects him for being a busy champion who keeps the division moving.

Meanwhile, Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett will battle it out for the interim featherweight title. Kattar, who is not focused on any specific fighter, believes that his time will come and that he will earn the eventual title shot that he deserves.

In the meantime, he is recovering and offering words of wisdom to his Brazilian jiu-jitsu coach, Nick Fiore, who will make his UFC debut this weekend at UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs Imavov. Kattar believes that Fiore's future in the UFC is promising and that he is more than ready to go.
