As if 2021 hasn’t already had its fair share of show-stopping fights, it looks like UFC fans will have another star-studded matchup to look forward to before the year is over. Massachusetts native Rob Font will meet former UFC and WEC Champion Jose Aldo in Los Vegas on December 4th for a main event bout.

Font, holding a record of 19-4, has proven to be a dangerous opponent in the bantamweight division. Most recently, Font beat former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt in a five round bout by unanimous decision. Font put together a striking clinic in his win against Garbrandt, touching up the former champion with an onslaught of devastating jabs while mixing in powerful hooks and body shots. UFC Hall of Fame member and current analyst Michael Bisping remarked on Font's showing as the "performance of his career." Font improved his win streak to four after his win over Gardbrandt.

Jose Aldo, a fighter with a record of 30-7, is also on a win streak with an unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz last month and another against Marlon Vera back in December of 2020. The former champion is looking to once again make a run towards the belt, but Font is Aldo’s biggest challenge yet in this pursuit.

The winner of this bout would in all likelihood be in line for a shot at the title, thus making this a main event with lots on the line. We can expect the very best from Font as he is 5-1 in his last 6 bouts and has already mowed over one former UFC champion. Who’s to say Jose Aldo isn’t next?
